Doing What's Best for our Town

"As a member of Southend Council I would look to instigate policies that would drive local entrepreneurship from the wealth of talent that exists within the town.   People can do it themselves, they just need the right environment to make it work.  And from small seeds, businesses can grow and create new jobs.  Job creation in the town would be one of my primary aims."

Welcome to Thorpe Labour!

James Miller, Operations Director of the Stockvale Group of Companies that owns and operates Adventure Island, Sealife Adventure, Radio Essex, restaurants and property, has been selected as the Labour candidate for Thorpe Ward in the forthcoming local elections in May next year.

"I am standing in the upcoming local elections because I believe I can bring a unique insight into how to grow business and create a thriving entrepreneurial culture that is needed across the town, and particularly Southend High Street.  Job creation is central to a thriving Southend economy that in-turn can pay for the public services we all want.  I hope you can put your faith in me to do what is best for both Thorpe Ward and Southend."

This website provides information on Thorpe Ward; James Miller's background, political beliefs and views on leading Thorpe; the Labour Party; and Southend-On-Sea Borough Council.  The overall purpose is to help the electorate make an informed decision as to who to vote for.
